Location: Metuchen, NJ

Two Marketing Interns:

We are seeking energetic interns who can work a flexible schedule (approximately 24-32 hours a week) and who live within close proximity to our facility in Metuchen, NJ. The internship is open to upper-level Undergraduates, as well as Graduate students. Majors which would best fit this internship include: Marketing, Business, Chemistry/Biology or any related science field. A background in chemistry or biology is strongly recommended but not required. This is a paid internship.

Duties include:

• Working in conjunction with our marketing and sales department to develop new products and conduct market research

Lab Tech for the Organics Division:

We would like someone that is a chemistry major that would like some exposure to a production level lab. This position entails helping the chemist with their day to day duties.  

Duties include, but are not exclusive to:

• Material picking/putting away for manufacturing chemist
• Assist QC chemist in their prepping of products for analysis
• Assist in finalizing product packaging for client delivery when necessary

Marketing Associate - SPEX CertiPrep

Location: Metuchen, NJ

Job Overview:
The Marketing Associate position is responsible for day-to-day coordination of various marketing projects and processes, with final approval from manager or higher.  This position requires close interaction with sales, sales support, manufacturing / product development, to ensure that our website, collateral, and other communications accurately reflect our brand.

Job Responsibilities:

  • - Process and manage leads and literature requests from a variety of sources
  • - Maintain product data entry and updates in enterprise system and on company website
  • - Maintain CRM and email newsletter databases
  • - Assist in design and copy writing of flyers, brochures, ads, presentations, and other marketing collateral
  • - Execute yearly customer loyalty updates
  • - Determine ROI of marketing campaigns by capturing and analyzing performance metrics
  • - Write and maintain updates to corporate website
  • - Write and maintain press release submissions
  • - Coordinate new products and employee suggestion meetings
  • - Develop lead generation strategies with objectives, targets, and measures
  • - Maintain social networking initiatives, seek out new opportunities
  • - Coordinate trade show registrations, pack booth material, schedule shipments
  • - Assist in new product development and product launch plans
  • - Assist in preparation  of company-sponsored webinars and other events
  • - Attend trade shows to gather information about the market and identify new trends
  • - Coordinate new catalog development
  • - Develop and maintain customer appreciation programs
  • - Coordinate marketing initiatives with OEMs and distributors
  • - Other duties assigned by manager
Job Requirements:
  • - Associates or Bachelor’s degree (in related field preferred) and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience
  • - Must be able to multi-task in a very busy environment
  • - Exceptional time management, organizational, and leadership skills
  • - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • - Ability to coordinate technical writing with graphic design
  • - Ability to gather important strategic information about the industry, competitors, and customers at trade shows, surveys, the internet, or other sources
  • - Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills;  MS Access and Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign experience preferred
  • - Ability to travel at least 15% as required
  • - Previous chemistry laboratory experience preferred

Senior Sales Specialist - SPEX CertiPrep

Location: Metuchen, NJ

SPEX CertiPrep, the leading manufacturer of Organic and Inorganic Certified Reference Materials, is seeking a dynamic individual join our Metuchen, NJ based sales team. The position will be responsible for maintaining and increasing sales in a developed US territory.  The individual must be able to drive new business through a variety of channels.  Responsibilities include maintaining and increasing sales through territory management, developing business opportunities with new and existing distributors, OEM partners and direct customers, as well as working closely with marketing and product development to help develop and promote new promotions and products.  

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated salesperson with a strong track record of increasing sales through a variety of techniques, including inside sales, trade shows, and customer visits. As a member of our well-structured sales team, the candidate will have the chance to make a great impact on the success of the business.

Job Responsibilities:
-Demonstrate strong selling skills and extensive knowledge of the products
-Attend trade shows and related conferences to strengthen company networking and find new business prospects
-Visit clients to develop strong relationships and referrals
-Supply innovative insight into new product development based on knowledge from the field
-Take initiative to expand into new sales territories
-Up to 25% required travel to destinations throughout US

Job Requirements:
-Science graduate, preferably chemical/biological sciences
-Minimum 5 years sales experience, preferably in the laboratory consumables sector
-Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and strong negotiation skills
-Ability to communicate technical product information to both technical and non-technical professionals
-Eager to learn the business and able to offer creative ideas on ways to continually improve it
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and preferably ACT! By Sage CRM program
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
-Thorough understanding of the products and services offered
-Self-driven and able to work in a fast-paced work environment
-Ability to encourage and maintain a positive work environment
