Webinar Recording: Is that really bis (2-chloroisopropyl) ether?

Posted 3/10/2015 |

The compound bis (2-chloroisopropyl) ether is a target compound in EPA methods 625 and 8270. This webinar is designed to educate the environmental community on some problems identified with bis (2-chloroisopropyl) ether that have existed for the past few years and seem to be worsening. There is widespread confusion about what compound B2CIPE actually is, and availability and costs are a known concern.

The webinar discusses the identity of the material used as a reference standard, illustrate the issues and propose a solution to the problem.

Other topics of discussion during the webinar include:

  • What target compound is meant by bis (2-chloroisopropyl) ether?
  • Issues we have observed in detection of the target compound.
  • Additional isomers.
  • Potential solutions to the issues.
